It's looking more and more like wishful thinking the way the race is going.

But those Democrats who pine for the so-called dream ticket of Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton now have somewhere semi-official to go on the web.

A group calling itself Democrats United for Clinton/Obama 08 launched a website [1] today where like-minded partisans can sign an electronic petition to the Democratic National Committee urging an unity ticket. The group was founded by a former Clinton staffer, which explains why she is atop the proposed ticket.

When Clinton and her husband, former president Bill Clinton, publicly suggested the possibility last month as a way for Democrats to support both her and Obama, Obama quickly quashed the entire premise, pointing out that he leads in delegates and popular vote and it was rather presumptuous of the candidate in second place to promote such an idea.
